Turn on your event radar

With campaign launch just a few weeks away, the topic of promotion is the right thing to have on your mind. Each of you are developing a project in a unique space with a unique community in mind. So the events, gatherings, or shows that are most relevant to you are likely different from those of your peers. Be on the look out now (if you are not already) for events around the City that provide you the opportunity to interact with people who might be into the space you are addressing. Special gatherings, trade shows, and exhibitions that pertain to a specific audience often take place only a few times a year. Make sure you don’t miss the perfect gathering to learn about your community and the area that you are addressing.

Of course, everyone should make the calendar for the IHA Housewares show, May 2-5. This is a must attend show for anyone remotely interested in product design or housewares. LINK

The international home + housewares show may be a perfect place for you to spread the word about your in-progress campaign. Campaigns will be underway while the show is in session.

The registration date has already passed for Northwestern White Space Pitch competition, but you may still be able to register if you act quickly. Emmanuella and Tom can tell you about the experience of participating in the workshops and the pitch event. Since we no longer have an annual UIC business plan pitch event, this could be an opportunity to compete using the business modeling work from this semester. LINK
